The Cross of Jesus Christ is the event that sparked 4 world-changing, life-altering events. That is why the Cross is the crux of human history. That is why there is an B.C. and an A.D. Everything changed after the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The point is that when we think of the Cross, we should recall these 4 things. We will only be able to look at the first one this Sunday.
EVENT #1 – THE CROSS WAS THE GLORIFICATION OF THE SON (vv27-29)
““Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour. Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” The crowd that stood there and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.”” (John 12:27–29, ESV)
