On September 1, 2016, Joshua Bateman was brought on staff as Associate Pastor, ministering primarily to youth, children, & families. He has his Bachelor of Ministry in Youth Ministries from Ambrose University and is married to Cherilynn.
With Pastor Jim entering retirement effective January 1, 2022, the membership of Elk Point Baptist Church voted on November 14, 2021, to call Pastor Josh as the new senior pastor. His committment to the youth and families in the Lakeland continues.
He and Cheri are blessed to have four children: Lianna, David, Asher, and Jaelynn. Josh and Cheri are also engaged in ministry as foster-parents.
He is also heavily involved in the community, particularly in his role as Assistant Chief and Chaplain with the Elk Point Fire Department
